Christmas celebrations in Ukraine last from 6 January, when families have traditional Christmas Eve supper, to 19 January, the day of Vodohrestya (baptism by water) epitomising the tradition of christening in waters of river Jordan. The UBCC would once again like to give its members an opportunity to celebrate Christmas one more time before the festive season is over.

The Ukrainian Christmas Reception will take place at the Bridewell Hall, St Bride Foundation, Bride Lane, Fleet Street, London EC4Y 8EQ (nearest Tube station – Blackfriars).  In the programme:

- festive greetings from the Embassy of Ukraine and from the UBCC Board of Directors
- special address from Mr Vitaliy Lisovenko, member of the board of UkrExim Bank, Ukraine and a co-founder of a charity supporting orphanages in Ukraine.
- introduction to Ukrainian Christmas customs
- traditional Ukrainian Christmas cuisine
- live performance of Ukrainian Christmas carols and music

Admission is by invitation only.

Cost of attending the event:
UBCC members : free
Non-members: GBP29 per person

The invitations will only be guaranteed to Patrons and Sponsors of the UBCC. The remaining invitations will be allocated on the first come first served basis. The UBCC members will receive an invitation immediately upon responding to this email (subject to availability). The invitations for non-members will be allocated only upon receipt of the payment. Any non-members who join the UBCC before 6 January 2007 will be entitled to attend the Ukrainian Christmas Reception free of charge.
